You can install the KPS Short Throw Shifter at home in less than 2 hours. The unit installs from the top, requires no modifications to the car, utilizes the factory shift boot and accepts the stock shift knob. The shifter assembly is anodized to prevent corrosion and unlike the factory shift has adjustable stops to prevent undue stress on internal transmission assemblies. You’ll also like the fact that the KPS shifter has a beefy 3/8″ mounting base (the stock unit is stamped steel) plus the handle is ½” shorter than the stock handle. Each KPS Shifter is supplied with high-grade military spec hardware, installation instructions and a manufacturers limited lifetime warranty.For C6 applications, you must purchase a 1997-04 shift knob.
