All of Diode Dynamics’s beam patterns were made with optical simulation modeling to make the best pattern possible. This specific model acts as an upgrade over factory foglamps. The 80? spread pattern excels in illuminating a wide field of view in front of your vehicle. It has a peak beam intensity of 10,600 candela, uses 2,262 raw lumens and shines 106 lux at ten meters. The light’s 6000K color, Diode Dynamics’s whitest color, produces a true white color without any hue of blue. While these lights are a clear choice for off-road trips, they also work superbly on the street. When installed as a pair and in accordance with your state’s guidelines, the driving pattern meets SAE J583 standards as a foglamp and keeps your vehicle street legal.
Better Designed Than Competing Brands
The Diode Dynamics SS3 Stage Series 3″ Sport Round White Fog LED Light Pod was built to be a compact and focused choice. These round pods are designed with a pin-fin heatskink design for optimal thermal dissipation. The lights include standard mounting brackets for a sturdy base. Because of its short 3″ size, it will fit in spots that more traditional light bars couldn’t fit. While it might be natural to assume smaller means weaker, that’s not the case with this light pod. High-intensity automotive-type LED chips paired with a total internal reflection (TIR) optic ensure much more light output than your typical optics or reflectors. Standard optics lose light internally, increase glare and do not focus light properly. The TIR optic serves as both the optic and main lens for greater efficiency and output. The TIR receives all the LED’s light, directs it where needed, and reduces glare, all at an efficient rate. The light will additionally thrive in all weather conditions and function in temperatures ranging from -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit.
