If you are looking for the correct IMRC (Intake manifold Runner Control) gaskets for your 1998 4.6L DOHC Mustang Cobra then NPD and FEL-PRO have you covered! This gasket set is designed to give you (2) of the correct style F7LZ-9461-AA Ford style gaskets that were used to seal the IMRC plates to the cylinder heads. This gasket set is designed to work with the IMRC plates that featured the ID code F8ZU casting. These gaskets from FEL-PRO feature a molded rubber PIP design to ensure a proper fit and finish. So if you are doing a engine rebuild or are looking to ensure you have a leak free install, look at picking up a set of these gaskets from NPD.
Restoration Note:
After 1997 Ford changed the design of the IMRC plates to a new and improved style for 1998. Ford Listings show the 1998 part numbers for the IMRC plates as F8ZZ-9U531-BA & F8ZZ-9U531-AA. These new style IMRC plates featured a different style gasket and gasket mounting surface. The 1996 thru 1997 gaskets will not work with these redesigned IMRC plate. See installtion note below.
Installation Note:
This gasket set is only designed to work with 1998 Mustang Cobra that feature the later style IMRC plate. If you have a 1996 thru 1997 Mustang Cobra and are looking for the rigid carrier design style gaskets that were used see NPD part number M-9461-110B (FEL-PRO)
